My Life in May

I’m just going to start off my saying I can’t believe how fast the month of May went! So many exciting things happened in May. To start, I had a baby cousin that was born, Emmy! The past few weeks I have been thinking and getting inspiration for my posts and wanted to start off with this post. Having a big girl job, is the real deal! I love every second of it, and feel so lucky to have a job I honestly love. As many of you know, I got into Real Estate right after high school and honestly can’t believe how busy I am! I am so thankful that I get to do what I love every day. Having a job I work 40+ hours a week makes finding time to blog about my life pretty challenging, but I’m up for the challenge!

My life lately, hasn’t been too exciting on the makeup and fashion aspect of things, but I am making it a point to continue blogging 2-3 times a week again. Blogging is another full time job and passion but it’s something we can learn a lot from each other about. I think of many of you as family and it’s a good break from my other daytime job. I will be doing posts soon on how I have learned to handle stress, and much more! I hope everyone has a great week..see you back here on Monday! xoxo

Little Black Dress

When it comes to finding the right dress..you can never go wrong wearing a black dress for ANY occasion! I personally love black that I wear it so much, a little too much! Everyone knows black makes you look skinnier, and tanner..so you can never go wrong with it! I wore this Calvin Klein Dress last weekend to a wedding. My favorite part about the dress is the ruffled shoulders. It’s such a staple to this look. I hope everyone has a great weekend and Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there! RoseGold Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial

I am in love with the way that this makeup look turned out! It is a gorgeous look for Summer, and is really easy to achieve! In my video, I will show you step by step how to achieve this look and what products to use.

I get so many questions on how to do a natural smokey eye. This is the perfect look to practice on because you can build on it and make it as light or dark as you want. Some products below may contain affiliate links. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

How to do a smokey eye

Doing a smokey eye actually takes a lot of practice. I remember when I first did one I thought it was the hardest thing to do, but over time I perfected it. Now that’s the only thing I do! You can make them as natural or dramatic as you want. I love blending all types of colors together because you can get a completely different color, and look. Even if you copy the exact colors someone else uses, it isn’t going to be an exact replica! Everyone has their own techniques, and it depends on how much you blend your colors together.

Always start using an eyeshadow primer or base

If you are looking to save money, then I recommend using a concealer as a primer by applying it with your beauty blender. This will cover your dark shadows on your eyes. However, I completely recommend using an eyeshadow primer like the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Potion so your concealer or eyeshadow doesn’t crease throughout the day. It makes a huge difference.

Apply a light shadow

This will help the colors stay in place longer and allow you to have an even and buildable blend. I always use a white or translucent powder and this will make a huge difference when blending. Always start with a little product at a time, and blending often and you will create the perfect smokey eye!

When it comes to anti-aging creams, or serums you can spend a ton of money on finding the perfect ones! If you are going for a more flawless, natural look, than you will definitely want to use a tinted moisturizer. The moisturizer won’t settle in your wrinkles and appear to make you look more tired and “cakey.” No matter how much you blend the foundation out, if it’s too thick there is no smoothing it out wrinkles and fine lines unlike a moisturizer.

I use a tinted moisturizer in the summer when my skin is clear and already has color to it. Since I use mine during the summer months it is always smart to have an SPF in it so you are protecting your skin during the day.

Use a thin concealer

Avoid using a harsh eyeliner

Instead of using a harsh eyeliner, consider using a brown, white on your waterline, blue, or a violet! Also consider a new technique for your eyeliner. Whether you’re more of a cat-eyed girl, or you like a harsh liner you can create a whole new eye shape just by the way you do your eyeliner.
