I have always been a fan of having perfect eyebrows. Although they can be very hard to achieve, I am sharing my tips on how to perfect your brows and common mistakes to avoid. One of my favorite brow kits is 65% off!
Common mistakes with eyebrows and how to properly fill in eyebrows
Let’s first start with common mistakes then later in the post I will give you tips on how to manage them and keep them perfected. I have filled my eyebrows in for the past 3 years. It is so easy to make them too dark, or too thin. I will never forget one time in Junior High, I got a magnified mirror and plucked my brows using the mirror. Everyone knows you see every flaw in those mirrors, and soon after I left with almost no brows left!!! That was one mistake I will never make again! Secondly, if you don’t get the right color to fill them in they can be too dark or too light.
5 Common mistakes with eyebrows:
- Too dark
- Not long enough
- Overextended arch
- Too thin
- Uneven (don’t match)
One thing I love about makeup especially brows, if you don’t any hair on your eyebrows you can fake it with an eyebrow pencil, or pomeade and no one will ever know!
These two products have been my favorite and go to for the past 3 years. Anastasia Beverly Hills (ABH) has hands down the best products!
- My favorite the ABH Brow Wiz Pencil
- For a more bold look the DipBrow Pomade with a definer brush.
- The color I currently use is Dark Brown for reference.
A lot of my clients love the brow definer as it gives them a perfect crisp line when defining brows. I personally prefer to use the pencil as it gives a more natural line. Another favorite of mine is the ABH Brow Gel because it holds all the hairs in place all day. It’s like hairspray for your hair! If you ever want a super natural look without using a pencil, you can simply use a tinted brow gel. I personally think Benefit Cosmetics has the best tinted brow gel. If you need to define your arch or draw hairline stokes then I recommend using a pencil.
This kit would be the perfect brow starter kit with brow powders and highlighters. It’s currently 65% off from Too Faced!
Where should your eyebrows start
I get this question so much and was thinking of filming an Instagram Live Video on this is you guys want one let me know! To really show where your brows should start. There is a grid called “eyebrow mapping” made up of three different sections. I will talk more about this below:
What is eyebrow mapping
To calculate the symmetry of your brows, take a a makeup brush and hold the brush at the angle
- To see where your brow should start, place brush from the corner of your nose, (brush should cross your nose) through the inner corner of your eye.
- Place brush directly in the middle of your brow pointing up. This is where the arch of your brow should be.
- Place brush from outside of eye, pointing to your ear. This is where your brow should end.
Which wax to use for waxing eyebrows
I wax my brows at home and it saves so much money! I purchased a wax warmer, linen cloths, and the wax from amazon for under $25 and thats exactly how much it costs for me to get them done once. This is my favorite soft wax. It is super sticky but thats what I love about it so much.
How to wax your brows at home:
- Warm wax according to directions for about 15-20 minutes
- Test wax on the back of your hand to make sure its not too hot
- Brush all hairs up toward hair line
- Apply wax under brow bone following the “mapping” you created above.
- Apply linen cloth and rip off in fast motion pulling skin taut.
These are all tips and tricks I have learned along the way with a lot of trial and error and hope these tips helps you achieve perfect brows!
